Job summary

AIC is seeking an on-site software/infrastructure engineer to embed with partners in Brooklyn Navy Yard or El Segundo, owning the AIC OS stack from edge to cloud. You will coordinate with design partners, build repeatable playbooks, and drive secure, observable infrastructure that delivers real operational maturity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering in production
• Experience running production infrastructure with Linux, Docker, CI/CD, networking, IaC, and observability
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of data-intensive applications and systems
• Depth in cloud/on-prem deployment, zero-trust identity, secrets management, or edge devices
• Hard-tech/robotics/manufacturing background is a plus
• Experience with OT networks or shop-floor equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Embed on-site with design partners and manufacturers for meaningful stretches of the year
• Build trust across the full vertical from GM to technician
• Develop genuine understanding of partner shops and their constraints
• Translate observations into concrete requirements and implement software
• Stand up newly acquired manufacturers: plant connectivity, edge, provisioning, and playbooks
• Own infrastructure where AIC OS runs: on-prem and cloud, CI/CD, networking, IAM, secrets, observability
• Treat compliance as an engineering problem with hardened environments and audit logging
• Write production code across full stack: data models, ETL, backend/frontend
• Run the process-engineering side of deployment coordinating changes with operations
• Own outcomes, not just deliverables; measure by operational maturity and financial impact
