Job summary

Laurels of Sandy Creek is seeking a Personal Care Aide (PCA) for full-time, on-site work in Wayland, MI. You will assist residents with daily activities, mobility, feeding, and personal care while maintaining safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Competency testing.
• State-approved personal care assistant, nursing assistant, or home health aide training preferred.
• Prior experience in assisted living or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, continence care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond to call lights and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety, and universal precautions at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents; foster a positive living environment.
• Keep environment clean, safe, and comfortable.
• Make routine rounds on assigned residents every two hours.
• Observe residents' skin and report changes to licensed nurse.
