Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Hardware Engineer for a 2-year W2 contract onsite in Greensboro, NC. Lead cost-reduction and VAVE initiatives by redesigning and optimizing PCBs, BOMs, and manufacturing processes to balance performance, quality, and cost.

The candidate will drive hardware architecture, PCB optimization, component engineering, and manufacturing collaboration while ensuring regulatory compliance and robust test. On-site role with competitive W2 pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or closely related discipline.
• 3+ years of hardware development experience with a track record in cost-reduction projects or redesigns.
• Proficiency in Cadence and PCB design practices.

Responsibilities

• Hardware Architecture & Schematic Redesign: consolidate multi-chip architectures and reduce expensive ICs.
• PCB Layout Optimization: improve board area, layer count, routing, and signal integrity.
• BOM & Component Engineering: identify pin-compatible swaps and lower costs.
• DFM/DFA: work with manufacturing to streamline assembly and reduce test points.
• Prototyping & Bench Testing: bring up and characterize cost-reduced hardware.
• Compliance & Regression Validation: perform EMI/EMC, environmental, and safety testing.
• Technical Documentation: manage ECO lifecycle and update schematics/BOMs/Gerber files.
