Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Payroll Specialist to work 100% onsite in our San Jose, CA office. This contract position (12+ months) offers a $30–$40/hour pay rate and immediate start.

You will support bi-weekly payroll for both union and non-union staff and ensure timekeeping accuracy across multiple processes. Responsibilities include updating timesheets, auditing hours and absences, running payroll reports, and assisting with post-payroll activity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years payroll processing experience.
• 2+ years timekeeping system experience (PeopleSoft/Workday preferred).
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and financial figures.
• Strong reading/writing and communication skills for managers and employees.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and basic email/office software.

Responsibilities

• Support bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees.
• Review and update timesheets; process time for LOA employees.
• Identify and resolve time entry inquiries via phone or email.
• Audit work hours, time entries and absences for accuracy in the payroll system.
• Run reports and request manual check payments.
