Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Payroll Specialist to join our team in Fresno, CA. This temporary-to-hire, full-time on-site role in South Fresno reports to the HR Manager and offers growth within a stable company.

You will manage all payroll processing for union and non-union employees, ensure timely updates for hires and terminations, prepare records, and support audits while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in payroll or related field.
• Experience with Paychex and other payroll systems.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll regulations.
• Experience with garnishments, union/non-union payroll, taxes, and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Meet deadlines and stay organized.
• Strong communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing for employees (union and non-union), including wages, deductions, sick pay, vacation, and accruals.
• Ensure timely processing of updates for new hires, terminations, and pay-rate changes.
• Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and best practices.
• Facilitate audits by providing records to auditors.
• Suggest updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reconciliations.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting for accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Handle payroll tax, garnishments, and related activities.
• Participate in special projects as required.
