Job summary

MasterApp Labs LLC is seeking a Payroll Specialist for an onsite contract role in Tampa, FL. You will handle complex payroll transactions, including retroactive pay and garnishments, while ensuring timely, accurate payments and regulatory compliance.

You will interpret payroll policies, support audits, and maintain confidentiality of employee data. Experience with ADP or Trapeze is highly desirable, as is experience in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Must speak, write and understand English.
• Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
• 2–4 years of payroll/related experience.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Experience processing complex payroll transactions.
• Experience with reconciliations and problem solving.
• Ability to meet critical payroll deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee data.
• Experience in a unionized environment (highly desired).
• Experience with ADP or Trapeze (highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Process complex payroll transactions and ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
• Resolve complex payroll adjustments and transactions, including retroactive pay and garnishments.
• Apply payroll policies and laws to ensure compliant payroll administration.
• Investigate escalations and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Review payroll data for accuracy and compliance before processing.
• Perform payroll-to-general-ledger reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Prepare payroll reports, records, and supporting documentation for management.
• Assist with audits and year-end payroll activities and reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and personal information.
• Serve as a resource to staff on payroll matters.
• Manage garnishment setups and changes in ADP.
• Review preview check registers and make corrections.
• Prepare check requests and backup documentation for payroll deductions.
