Kitty Hawk Kites, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Processing Specialist to manage payroll operations at our Kill Devil Hills, NC corporate office.

The role focuses on accurate processing, compliance with federal/state/local laws, and supporting HR processes in a fast-paced, seasonal environment. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of payroll experience, knowledge of UKG payroll systems, and strong accuracy, organization, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-4 years of payroll processing and compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with payroll software (UKG a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook; SharePoint a plus).

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately for employees with varying pay types and seasonal fluctuations.
• Ensure timely and accurate issuance of paychecks or direct deposits.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records for hires, terminations, and status changes.
• Verify and reconcile payroll data for accuracy.
• Assist HR with payroll compliance and regulatory changes.
• Support benefits enrollment, onboarding, and employee records.
• Generate payroll reports for management review and address system issues.
