Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is actively seeking a Payroll/HR Coordinator in Washington, DC to support weekly payroll operations, onboarding/offboarding, and HR compliance activities. This role requires strong payroll experience, attention to detail, and solid knowledge of compliance reporting, including prevailing wage and certified payroll.

The ideal candidate will manage payroll for 180+ employees, assist with accuracy, respond to payroll inquiries, and support HR processes and regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of payroll experience, including payroll software systems.
• Experience with certified payroll processing strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, Davis-Bacon requirements, and compliance reporting is a plus.
• Understanding of union and non-union payroll practices preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing weekly payroll for 180+ employees.
• Verify electronic timecard submissions and ensure payroll records are accurate.
• Support retroactive payroll adjustments and payroll corrections as needed.
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, timekeeping, and payroll-related concerns.
• Prepare payroll-related reports, including certified payroll and compliance reporting.
• Assist with unemployment claims, employment verifications, and payroll documentation requests.
• Complete and maintain required payroll and compliance forms accurately and timely.
• Support prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting requirements.
• Assist with onboarding and separation processes in HR.
• Maintain personnel records and HR documentation requirements.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Assist with benefits administration and HR reporting functions.
• Provide administrative support for various HR initiatives and projects.
