Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Patient Support Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for patients, providers, payors, and other callers, delivering exceptional service across prescriptions, clinical services, and billing inquiries. This is an onsite position only.

The role involves handling inbound/outbound calls, updating patient profiles, educating on Medicare payer programs, and coordinating with clinical teams to ensure high-quality support while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication; diplomatic and confidential.
• Basic PC skills and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls regarding medications and non-clinical inquiries.
• Triage calls to clinician and insurance verification teams.
• Update patient profiles with demographics and insurance details.
• Educate patients on Medicare payer programs and grant applications.
• Escalate complex cases to management as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and cross-training as required.
