Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a growing healthcare organization to recruit a Patient Financial Services Lead in Bethesda. This lead-level position handles escalated patient accounts and guides teammates without people management duties.

You will manage a high-volume inbound/outbound call load, explain EOBs and patient financial responsibility, and help set up payment plans while ensuring accurate billing support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent Patient Financial Services or healthcare revenue cycle experience.
• Experience working directly with patients regarding billing, balances, and payment questions.
• Experience handling 50–60+ patient calls per day.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and healthcare software systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated patient billing and account questions.
• Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls regarding balances, payment options, billing inquiries, and account resolution.
• Review and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and patient financial responsibility.
• Establish and maintain payment plans while assisting patients with account resolution.
• Process patient payments, credit card transactions, refunds, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic, guarantor, and insurance information.
• Analyze patient accounts and A/R reports to identify opportunities for timely resolution.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve complex account issues.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching team members as needed.
• Monitor quality, productivity, and workflow while supporting continuous process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations.
