Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners seeks a Patient Access Specialist for the Mercy – Defiance Hospital in Defiance, OH. This onsite role performs admitting duties, pre-registers patients, and collects insurance and demographics to support accurate billing and patient flow.

You will use ABN software, work with an overlay tool, and uphold policies while delivering compassionate service. Strong communication and a willingness to innovate are essential, with CRCR certification pursued within 9 months.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI, to explore better processes and improve patient and client experiences.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assign MRNs, perform medical necessity checks, collect insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Use an overlay tool while delivering customer service measured by Press Ganey.
• Operate the telephone switchboard for calls between patients, staff, and departments.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms and distribute patient education documents.
