Responsibilities

• Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, collect insurance information, receive and process physician orders, and use an overlay tool while providing excellent customer service.
• Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls.
• Adhere to policies and deliver excellent customer service with appropriate compassion.
• Meet point of service goals as assigned.
• Use quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts and provide data to leadership.
• Pre-register patient accounts, including calls to obtain demographics, insurance, and financial information.
• Explain consent forms to patients/guarantors and distribute patient education documents.
• Review insurance eligibility responses and code plans to support POS and billing processes.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute forms accordingly.
