Ensemble in Virginia is seeking a Patient Access Specialist - PRN to perform admitting duties for patients at Bon Secours - Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock. This on-site role requires delivering strong customer service and accurate data collection during patient intake.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
• High School Diploma/GED Required

Responsibilities

• Patient Access staff assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, collect insurance information, and process orders with excellent customer service.
• Operate the telephone switchboard to relay calls.
• Adhere to policies and deliver compassionate customer service in interactions.
• Meet point of service goals as assigned.
• Use quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are correct and provide data to leadership.
• Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits and collect demographics, insurance, and financial information including payment plans.
• Explain consent forms and distribute patient education documents, such as Medicare messages and forms.
• Review insurance verification to select plan codes and support POS and billing processes for clean claim rate.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute forms accordingly.
