Job summary

MAHEC's Community Pharmacy in Asheville is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to join an interdisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care. The role centers on patient access, primarily over the phone, while collaborating with clinicians on dispensing workflows and inventory control.

Minimum qualifications include two years of pharmacy/clinical experience and a Certified Pharmacy Technician license within 12 months. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday, 40 hours, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Meets all minimum qualifications for Pharmacy Technician II.
• Two years of pharmacy or clinical experience.
• Advanced skillset in clinical care or retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in managing pharmacy workflows and systems including dispensing, pharmacy information systems, and inventory management.
• Maintains a system for medication storage and security.
• Manages medication recalls and backorders.
• Connects patients to medication assistance resources including patient assistance program applications.
• Collaborates with the prior authorizations team.
• Assists pharmacists and other clinicians with medication histories as requested.
• Performs medication refills using a standardized protocol.
• Support learners in the pharmacy department.
