Job summary

Everstory Partners in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a Paralegal for a fully onsite role (Mon-Fri) to support the Legal and Risk Management Team. You will handle regulatory complaints, investigations, and drafting responses while collaborating with attorneys and business leaders.

Required: at least four years of paralegal experience and a 4-year or 2-year degree in Paralegal studies. Death-care industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree (Bachelor’s) or two-year degree (Associate’s) in Paralegal Studies required.
• At least four years of relevant paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Death-care industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a responsive resource to General Managers, Area Vice Presidents, and other business leaders; build trust and support operational needs.
• Independently coordinate regulatory complaints, customer disputes, and other operational matters; gather facts and records, investigate concerns, track deadlines, and prepare draft responses.
• Engage professionally with regulatory agencies within guidelines and attorney oversight. Do not communicate directly with client families.
• Own assigned matters from intake to completion; proactively follow up and ensure issues do not fall through the cracks.
• Manage multiple matters and changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with Legal and Risk Management Team; share information and support colleagues.
• Provide attorneys with relevant facts, analysis, options, and recommendations; escalate as needed.
• Support employment, commercial, and general liability litigation and pre-litigation matters, including investigations, discovery, subpoenas, and deposition preparation.
• Assist with regulatory filings; draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents under attorney supervision.
• Conduct legal research and summarize relevant statutes and regulations for attorney review.
• Provide secondary support for contracts, corporate records, renewals, due diligence, and closing documentation.
• Safeguard confidential information and perform other related duties as assigned.
