Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified coding credentials preferred (AHIMA/AAPC).
• CPT/ICD-10-CM/PCS knowledge required.
• Prior hospital coding experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical records to determine all appropriate diagnostic and procedural code assignments.
• Assigns charges for applicable clinics/departments as appropriate.
• Communicates with department manager on coding, compliance and documentation issues.
• Seeks clarification from providers to ensure accurate coding and participates in continuing education.
