Job summary

Tennessee Donor Services is seeking an Inhouse Recovery Coordinator with an ICU/critical care RN background to facilitate organ donation at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. You will oversee donor assessment, coordinate organ placement with transplant teams, and support families through a high-autonomy role.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in critical care, possess strong teamwork and communication, and hold a valid RN license with a Tennessee driver’s license.

Qualifications

• RN license required to practice nursing in Tennessee.
• 2+ years of critical care experience in ICU/CCU.
• Ability to multitask and work autonomously in a high-stakes environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication and conflict management skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass MVR underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
• Coordinates organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
• Assists in surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics and specimen shipping.
• Provides support to donor families and conducts medical/social history interviews.
• Partners with hospital leadership to improve donation metrics and policy; participates in committees.
• Develops hospital educational programs and status reports aligned with strategic goals.
• Updates donor information into the electronic medical record.
• Other duties as assigned.
