Job summary

Winpak's South Chicago Heights, IL facility is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for the night shift to troubleshoot, repair, install, and improve electrical and electronic systems that power our production equipment. You will work with PLCs, motors and drives, and control systems, reading schematics and supporting continuous improvement, while ensuring safety and GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot 3-phase power and 110/220/440-volt AC systems.
• Experience with PLCs, microprocessor-based controls, and AC/DC motors/drives.
• Read/modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control-panel layouts.
• Proficient with voltmeters, ammeters, and diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safe wiring practices.
• Follow GMP and food-packaging safety standards.
• Ability to train or guide others in troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems on production equipment.
• Program PLC systems and related software; modify logic as needed.
• Repair motors, drives, and analog/digital circuitry.
• Read and update electrical schematics and control-panel documents.
• Install and modify electrical control panels to safe, cost-effective standards.
• Install and repair plant electrical equipment including wiring, motors, lighting, and controllers.
• Use diagnostic instruments to identify root causes of electrical failures.
• Provide guidance and hands-on training to maintenance staff.
• Follow electrical codes and lockout/tagout procedures; ensure GMP compliance.
