Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for the 10W Hematology/Oncology unit at the Hyde Park campus. This 100% onsite role requires Chicago-area residency and supports care for solid tumor patients with symptom management, chemotherapy, and palliative care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and collaborating with Case Managers; opportunities exist to grow with a leading academic health system and participate in innovative cancer care and research.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing with BSN progression plan.
• Current RN Illinois license; BLS; ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy cert within one year.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager.
• Provide peer support and work as a team member.
• Utilize clinical pathways and plans of care following standards of practice.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth and education.
