Job summary

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is seeking a Network Technician II to perform routine planning, installation, maintenance, and recovery of network cabling, hardware, and related equipment to support data and telecommunication services.

You will collaborate with customers on planned installations and emergencies, document network configurations, and help manage fiber circuits, security components, and project-related updates.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• Associate's Degree or 2 years of related experience.
• Experience with network cabling and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Completes routine planning, installation, maintenance, inventory, programming and recovery efforts of network cabling, hardware, and related equipment.
• Provides technical support for network fiber circuits.
• Documents network fiber usage and routes.
• Reviews and updates network installation documentation to meet operational requests.
• Schedules logistics and coordinates resources for work orders and projects.
• Installs, configures, maintains, and monitors routine network cabling, hardware, and system security components.
• Communicates with customers on planned installations or emergency recovery activities.
