Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh is looking for a Network Technician II to support routine planning, installation, maintenance, and recovery of network cabling, hardware, and related equipment to keep data and telecom systems running.

Responsibilities include documenting network fiber routes, troubleshooting cabling issues, and coordinating resources for network projects. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work both independently and with a team.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of related experience required.
  • Associate's Degree or 2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
  • Experience with Axis software, Milestone XProtect Smart Client and Jira Service Desk preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and use power tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Completes routine planning, installation, maintenance, inventory, programming and recovery of network cabling, hardware and equipment.
  • Supports future tasks including telephone system administration and equipment quoting.
  • Documents network fiber routes and usage; troubleshoots routine cabling and hardware issues.
  • Updates network installation documentation to meet operational requests.
  • Coordinates logistics and resources for work orders and projects to meet timelines.

Associate's Degree or 2 years of related experience
