Job summary

Commnet Broadband in Gallup, NM is seeking a Network Technician I to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications networks, including wired and wireless voice, data, and video services. This on-site role supports a reliable, high-performance network environment for rural America.

You will collaborate with network engineers and technicians, perform routine maintenance, and respond to service tickets while adhering to security standards and company values.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the configuration of telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and other network devices.
• Perform basic routine maintenance tasks such as software upgrades, patch installations, and system backups.
• Monitor network performance and elevate issues related to connectivity, latency, and bandwidth as necessary.
• Implement basic network improvements and expansions.
• Respond to service tickets and resolve network-related problems reported by users or automated monitoring systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with network security policies and standards.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
• Participates in the team’s on-call rotation and responds to network incidents outside of regular business hours as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
