Job summary

Nextlink is seeking a Field Installation Technician to perform on-site installations and service calls for Internet and voice services at customer locations. The role includes surveying sites, installing equipment, wiring, configuring routers, and performing upgrades while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Strong customer service skills, ability to work independently, and a valid driver's license are required. The position is full-time with benefits and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be professional in dress, speech, and manner.
• Ability to work independently, using sound judgement principles.
• Must pass a drug screening test, a criminal background check, have and maintain a valid DL with a safe/acceptable driving record in compliance with company policy.
• Must be able to use tools to install equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate serviceability.
• Diagnose customer problems at service calls and restore functional service to existing customers.
• Install new customers with Internet service based on technology available, which includes mounting equipment at or above roof height, running Cat5-E or Fiber Optic cable from outside to the customer’s desired location.
• Configure routers and customer computers for access to Internet services.
• Perform equipment upgrades for existing customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
