Job summary

AT&T is seeking a Network Support Technician for an ICE OCIO program in Cary, NC. The role provides onsite and remote Tier 2 IT support, with a focus on LAN administration, network devices, and end-user services within a government environment.

Candidate will work under guidance, with some on-call duties and travel as needed. Requires U.S. citizenship, 1+ years of IT support, and an Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years' IT-related support experience, preferably in a helpdesk or customer support role.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve desktop, network, or other IT issues.
• General knowledge network products and systems.
• Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment.
• Must have excellent team skills and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must pass Motor Vehicle Records check; potential travel and readiness.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass the DHS Employment Eligibility Verification process.

Responsibilities

• Provide LAN administrator support with installation, configuration and maintenance of network devices, servers, storage, and tape backups.
• Support network-attached devices such as computers, printers, biometric devices, ECGs, x-ray machines, smart displays, and sensors.
• Support mobile and wireless devices including smartphones, tablets, and hotspots.
• Assist in testing, applying, and maintaining server configurations and security patches.
• Maintain health of systems and backups, including restore testing.
• Monitor ITSM (ServiceNow) assignments and resolve tickets.
• Update tickets with documentation to meet quality standards.
• Produce daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports.
• Provide inventory input to the customer’s system.
• Install and maintain video conferencing infrastructure; support user requests.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and special projects.
• Deploy new equipment and provide deployment support.
• Provide cabling and run cables in data centers and LAN rooms.
• Analyze functional requirements and design specifications for activities.
• Contribute to technical discussions and briefing materials.
• Identify fixes for existing systems and contribute to new construction of IT systems.
• Understand customer needs and translate to architecture/engineering requirements.
• Experience in system engineering across telecom concepts, operating systems, DBMS, and middleware.
