Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Network Operations Analyst II to monitor and report on system performance, identify faults, and assist with continuous improvements. You will test and evaluate equipment and processes, perform preventive maintenance, and escalate issues as needed.

The role is onsite in Springfield, MO with no remote option, and involves after-hours on-call support and collaboration with senior staff to implement fixes and recovery plans.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical training/certification.
• 7 to 12 months of experience.
• Basic experience coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months).
• Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
• Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring complex issues to others.
• Act as a technical reference and escalation point for a team, resolving operational and nonstandard issues and providing advice and guidance on process and procedure, to support others in delivering their duties.
• Provide operational support by performing prescribed continuous integration activities (sharing, testing and building). Act sometimes as first-line supervisor. Involves using existing systems and protocols.
• Provide initial fault isolation and propose resolution for approval by more senior colleagues to limit and address issues promptly.
• Support the performance of routine website/applications software tests.
• Conduct routine operations in root cause analysis, including basic data analysis, preliminary issue investigation, and identification of underlying causes.
• Implement disaster recovery and contingency plans to protect company data.
• Monitor and identify software defects and suggest corrections for approval by more senior colleagues to maintain fully functioning applications software.
• Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
• Assist with simple operational tasks, incident logging, reporting, systems monitoring, and systems testing to support the day-to-day infrastructure and networks.
