Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer to support enterprise network implementations at customer sites. The role involves hands-on installation, deployment, documentation, testing, and support of network infrastructure components in collaboration with government stakeholders.

You will work with structured cabling, switches, wireless access points, UPS, patch panels, and testing procedures, with travel to customer locations as required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting network infrastructure, telecommunications, or technology deployments.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation best practices.
• Experience with CAT5e/CAT6 cabling, termination, patching, labeling, and cable management.
• Familiarity with network hardware installations, including switches, patch panels, racks, UPS, and wireless APs.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, floor plans, diagrams, and installation instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel to customer locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Install and deploy network infrastructure equipment (racks, switches, UPS, cabling).
• Perform rack-and-stack, cable management, labeling, and connectivity testing.
• Support infrastructure upgrades and network modernization efforts.
• Document field findings, installation results, and project activities.
• Coordinate site access and schedules with Government POCs.
• Update network diagrams and as-built drawings.
• Assist with project status updates and stakeholder communications.
• Ensure installations meet established standards through QA processes.
• Collaborate with implementation teams to complete project objectives.
• Support multiple projects across assignments.
