Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an Engineer Network 3 in San Diego for on-site work, supporting multiple programs with a focus on network operations and security. The role requires the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance and hands-on experience with enterprise network gear.

Responsibilities include designing network systems, creating architecture schematics, selecting hardware/software, testing designs, and maintaining expertise across routers, switches, firewalls, and related technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years with a BS in a STEM field.
• 3+ years with a MS in STEM.
• 1 year with a PhD in STEM.
• Must be willing and able to obtain an active DOD Secret Clearance within a reasonable timeframe.

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for an Engineer Network 3 to support various programs. This role involves contributing to engineering efforts in network operations and security. This position is located on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and plans network communications systems.
• Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provides detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools to meet business needs.
• Conducts testing of network designs.
• Maintains technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
• Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• 5 Years with a Bachelor of Science in a STEM field, OR
• 3 Years with a Master's in a STEM field, OR
• 1 Year with a PhD in a STEM field.
• Must be willing and able to obtain an active DOD Secret Clearance within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the program.

Technical Skills

• Experience with Juniper, SDWAN, and Cisco Routers and Switches.

Certifications

• CompTIA Network+ or a similar certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications
