Job Description:
This is an opportunity to join a field engineering team supporting the initial deployment, operations, and maintenance of a complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication system. The role involves working in a multi-disciplinary, hands-on environment, providing technical support during ground system installation and integration activities. The position requires deployment to field locations after completing required training.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree and 2 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Experience with the repair, configuration, troubleshooting, and operations of network devices and computer systems. Must be knowledgeable in software installation procedures, commercial IT equipment troubleshooting, system-level acceptance testing, and commercial electronics hardware.
Candidates must be able to obtain an active Top Secret / SCI clearance before starting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Ability to use engineering drawings for troubleshooting and standard desktop tools to produce or edit documents. CompTIA Security+ and A+ Certifications, or the ability to obtain them within 3 months, is required.
The candidate must be willing to work extended hours and non-standard shifts. The role requires the physical ability to maneuver around equipment, lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, and pass a pre-assignment medical examination. Willingness and ability to complete required training in San Diego, CA, with some travel to other U.S. locations, is necessary before supporting an international assignment for a minimum of 24 months.
