Molex in Rochester Hills, MI, is seeking a Mold Process Engineer to own mold tooling and process development affecting quality, cost, and launches. You will work with product teams on manufacturability and lead end-to-end tooling initiatives, applying scientific molding and CAE to cut lead times.

Qualifications

• Experience in injection molding, mold development, and tooling.
• Hands-on experience on molding machines and ancillary equipment.
• Experience with CAD/3-D modeling and GD&T.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability to diagnose molding/tooling issues and drive improvements.
• Experience with ERP/PLM systems and data analysis for process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead new tooling and mold initiatives: quotes, DFM, approvals, Moldflow CAE validation, supplier coordination.
• Own end-to-end mold development: qualification criteria, scientific molding processes, launch readiness.
• Optimize process parameters using cavity-pressure data and DOE; correlate CAE with measured data.
• Manage project execution: track schedule, budget, milestones with version-controlled records.
• Provide technical support for equipment, tooling, and process issues; lead corrective actions with operations and suppliers.
• Drive improvements in tooling cost, cycle time, scrap, and on-time mold delivery against KPIs.
• Collaborate with global plants to ensure successful mold transitions.
