Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployed Support Specialist to provide advanced network engineering, system configuration, deployment planning support, and hands-on troubleshooting for mission-critical communications systems supporting Navy deployed units. This position requires 100% on-site presence in Washington, DC or Norfolk, VA.

The role demands 4+ years of deployed technical support experience, Cisco routing/switching proficiency, and active security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years deploying technical support or field network operations.
• Experience with Cisco routing and switching, including Layer 2/3 technologies.
• Troubleshoot and configure enterprise systems including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.
• Knowledge of TCP/UDP networking fundamentals.
• Experience in technical or highly regulated environments, preferably military networks.
• Willingness to travel, including OCONUS.
• Must possess: CompTIA Security+ CE (IAT Level II).
• OEM network certifications such as Cisco CCNA (preferred).
• Experience with Cisco-based environments, routing, switching, and deployed communications support.
• Active Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Provide network technical advice during deployment planning phases.
• Deliver rapid troubleshooting during live deployments.
• Administer enterprise network components (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, AD, Exchange).
• Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot deployed systems for USMC units.
• Assist in IA training for deploying units.
• Support D-30 deployment readiness process.
• Identify hardware/software needs and coordinate procurement/transport.
• Coordinate foreign clearance requests and visas for OCONUS travel.
• Document deployment outcomes and conduct post-deployment reviews.
• Manage return and restock of equipment; ensure accountability.
• Support import/export requirements for mission systems.
• Collaborate with regional leads across 14 regions.
• Engage traveling field/base network engineers regularly.
