The ideal candidate has 8+ years in enterprise network engineering, DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification, and active Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering, operations, and troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (CASP+, CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent).
• Active Secret security clearance required with the ability to obtain Top Secret eligibility.
• Network vendor certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and support on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of complex enterprise network issues across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network boundary environments.
• Configure, maintain, and support routers, switches, wireless APs, firewalls, sensors, VLANs, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Serve as Tier III escalation point and SME supporting large-scale enterprise network operations and engineering teams.
• Develop Engineering Implementation Plans (EIPs), perform RCA, manage change requests, and support configuration management processes.
• Conduct lab validation and pre-production testing of firmware upgrades, security patches, and network changes while ensuring cybersecurity compliance.

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Systems Engineer to support a company focused on delivering enterprise-scale network engineering and operational support for one of the world's largest and most complex defense network environments. This position is on-site at Pearl Harbor, HI, with alternate locations available in Whidbey Island, WA or Norfolk, VA. The Systems Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for network engineering, Tier III troubleshooting, configuration management, and enterprise network modernization initiatives. Responsibilities for the Network Systems Engineer include:

• Lead troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of complex enterprise network issues across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network boundary environments.

• Conduct lab validation and pre-production testing of firmware upgrades, security patches, and network configuration changes while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity requirements.

Required Qualifications for the Network Systems Engineer include:

• 8+ years of professional experience supporting enterprise network engineering, operations, and troubleshooting environments.
• Experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN, network boundary engineering, routing, switching, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, multicast, firewalls, and network security technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, configuration management, change management, root cause analysis, Agile/SAFe, and JIRA experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret security clearance required with the ability to obtain Top Secret eligibility.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification required (CASP+, CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent).
• Network vendor certification required, such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
• Ability to support on-call rotations and travel up to 10%.

Compensation for the Network Systems Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 annually depending on experience
