Job summary

AMS Industries Inc is seeking an Onsite Project Manager to lead complex HVAC/MEP projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate with field superintendents, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of mission-critical systems.

Reporting to the Project Executive, you will translate plans into actionable field tasks, track schedules and costs, and lead risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of project management in HVAC/MEP construction.
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting and project financials.
• Proven ability to manage client, subcontractor, and internal relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own the full project lifecycle onsite from planning through closeout.
• Coordinate daily with field staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Interpret plans and specifications into actionable field tasks.
• Monitor schedules, costs, manpower, and equipment to meet deadlines and financial goals.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations for best value.
• Maintain QA, safety, and compliance in mission-critical environments.
• Lead onsite project meetings and provide progress reporting.

Job description

Own the project from groundbreak to closeout. Reporting to the Director of Mission Critical Service, the Project Manager will oversee warranty repairs and other service needs for a single large client. The ideal candidate will have experience with large scall central utility plants and/or large scale data processing facilities..

As a Project Manager at AMS, you're the primary point of contact between the field, subcontractors, and client representatives. Reporting to the Director of Mission Critical Service, you'll manage a dedicated large client relationship end to end, from daily meetings and internal paperwork to escalations, field service ticket reviews, and reporting, while directly overseeing awarded maintenance, repair, installation, and enhancement projects to ensure every job is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

You'll handle meeting participation, procurement, and scheduling alongside AMS internal processes like new job requests, subcontracting, purchase orders, billing, closeout, and warranty tracking, including post-construction mechanical warranty repairs. What You'll Own

• 1. Management duties specific to a single large client needs including but not limited to:
• Routine daily meetings with client
• Completing, managing and closing out all client internal paperwork processes
• Ensuring compliance with client's safety and access requirements
• Providing as needed proposals related to repairs, maintenance, installation and enhancements
• Ensuring client requests are followed up
• Act as the escalation point for critical incidents, outages related to client impacting events
• Reviewing field service tickets, third party reports and following up with clients as needed
• Provide required reports, etc. directly to the client
• 2. Directly manage all aspects of awarded maintenance, repairs, installation and enhancement projects including but not limited to:
• Scheduling
• AMS internal processes including but not limited to:
• New job requests
• Subcontract process
• Purchase orders
• Close out
• Warranty
• Manage post construction mechanical warranty repairs and tracking processes
• Promote safety, accountability, and operational discipline
• Attend periodic/routine sales, PM and other meetings

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience in HVAC/MEP
• Experience with large scale central utility plant operations is a significant plus
• Experience with large scale data processing facilities is a significant plus
• Experience with central utility plant and data processing facilities is a significant plus
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
