Job summary

AMS Industries Inc is seeking an Onsite Project Manager to lead complex HVAC/MEP projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate with field superintendents, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of mission-critical systems.

Reporting to the Project Executive, you will translate plans into actionable field tasks, track schedules and costs, and lead risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management in HVAC/MEP construction.
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting and project financials.
  • Proven ability to manage client, subcontractor, and internal relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full project lifecycle onsite from planning through closeout.
  • Coordinate daily with field staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Interpret plans and specifications into actionable field tasks.
  • Monitor schedules, costs, manpower, and equipment to meet deadlines and financial goals.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations for best value.
  • Maintain QA, safety, and compliance in mission-critical environments.
  • Lead onsite project meetings and provide progress reporting.

Job description

Own the project from groundbreak to closeout. You'll report to the Project Executive and serve as the primary point of contact between the field, subcontractors, and client representatives, overseeing the delivery of highly complex mechanical and MEP systems to mission critical standards, joining 1,000+ employees who build with precision and purpose.

As an Onsite Project Manager at AMS, you're the primary point of contact between the field, subcontractors, and client representatives. Reporting to the Project Executive, you'll oversee the successful delivery of highly complex mechanical and MEP systems, bringing together expertise in design and engineering coordination, estimating, construction management, and client-facing communication to ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

You'll manage the full project lifecycle onsite from planning through closeout, coordinating daily with field superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and client representatives while interpreting plans, specifications, and technical documents into actionable field tasks. The role spans schedule and cost tracking, RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and progress billings, through to leading onsite project meetings, evaluating subcontractor quotations, and proactively identifying and resolving risks before they impact performance. What You'll Own

  • Coordinate daily with field superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure seamless execution of work.
  • Interpret and communicate plans, specifications, and technical documents into actionable field tasks.
  • Monitor and track project schedules, costs, manpower, and equipment to meet project deadlines and financial objectives.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and progress billings.
  • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure scope alignment and best value.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality assurance, safety, and compliance standards, especially those specific to mission critical environments.
  • Lead onsite project meetings and provide accurate reporting to both internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and proactively implement strategies to resolve issues before they impact project performance.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in HVAC/MEP construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction logistics, job cost accounting, and project financials.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Project.
  • At least 2 years supporting mission critical or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Autodesk Build, Spectrum ERP, or equivalent..
