Job summary

OccuMedX is seeking a licensed mental health professional to provide confidential counseling sessions to employees on construction sites. You will respond to emotional crises, perform brief stabilization, assess needs, and refer to appropriate resources while maintaining clear boundaries around scope of practice.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology, at least three years of one-on-one counseling experience, and comfort working at heights on job sites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience providing one-on-one counseling.
• Strong crisis management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse groups of employees.
• Familiarity with referral networks and local mental health resources.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a construction site environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and clients at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one, confidential counseling sessions for employees on the construction site.
• Respond to immediate mental health or emotional crises, offering short-term stabilization and support.
• Assess needs and refer employees to appropriate community resources or long-term providers when necessary.
• Maintain clear boundaries of scope of practice, offering supportive counseling rather than ongoing therapy.
• Provide education and awareness about mental health and wellness in a workplace context.
• Document sessions and referrals in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable ethical guidelines.
• Provide ongoing education and training to workers on mental health.
• Maintain cleanliness of the onsite clinic and office.
• Build lasting relationships with internal and external partners.
• Integrate with the client project team to support client objectives and programs.
