Job summary

UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Department, a 100% onsite role based in the Harvey E/5 unit. You will deliver direct nursing care, collaborate with physicians, and lead Patient Care Team activities in alignment with hospital goals.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in Nursing or higher, Illinois RN licensure, and AHA BLS. A Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred, with prior acute care experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree in Nursing or higher.
• Must hold a current RN Licensure State of Illinois or valid temporary permit to practice nursing in Illinois.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and acute care experience may be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patients' plan of care and outcomes.
• Provide complex nursing skills and delegate tasks to care team per unit competencies.
• Monitor quality of patient care and patient satisfaction.
• Pursue professional development opportunities.
• Ensure daily Patient Care Center operations run effectively.
• Support hospital vision and service standards and respond to patient and physician needs.
