Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Troy, MI is seeking a Mechanical Specialist onsite to support product validation, tooling and prototype parts through machining, measurement, and troubleshooting. You will work with design and engineering to ensure requirements are met and documented using DVF and DVP&Rs.

The role requires 3+ years of machining experience, an associates degree in machine tool technology, and hands-on skills with mills, lathes, welding, and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of testing procedures and methodologies.
• Familiarity with engineering practices of electrical and mechanical systems.
• UG or AutoCAD experience a plus.
• 3+ years of machining experience using mills, lathes, and handheld tools.
• Strong technical writing and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Executes product validation methodology to establish performance criteria and ensures all requirements are met.
• Supports prototype parts for validation via machining and troubleshooting of designs.
• Documents product validation thoroughly and accurately via DVF and DVP&Rs.
• Communicates feasibility and mark-ups with design/engineering teams.
• Operates manual machines and Haas CNC 3-Axis mill; performs welding as needed.
• Assists with critical projects and supports field equipment performance issues.
