Job summary

ECI Group's client is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee the EMC and DMC 1|2 modular units at the Waggaman, LA facility. This onsite role covers delivery, startup and commissioning, ensuring on-time, within-budget execution and adherence to quality standards.

The position requires collaboration with operations, maintenance, engineering and quality teams to optimize asset performance and support operational excellence in a petrochemical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
• 10-15+ years in Petrochem/Chemicals/Refinery construction or project management.
• Proficiency with project management software and budgeting tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EMC and DMC 1|2 modular equipment delivery, unit construction, startup and commissioning at the Waggaman site.
• Review equipment designs for reliability, maintainability, and safety compliance.
• Lead project lifecycle from delivery through closeout with cross-functional teams.
• Develop budgets, manage variances and report status to stakeholders.
• Coordinate procurement, contractor management and change control.
