Job summary

Envita Solutions, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, is seeking an Environmental Waste Technician to perform collection, sorting and processing of wastes in a fast-paced facility. You will operate balers, shredders and pumps, ensure safe handling, and follow EPA/DOT/OSHA rules.

The role requires high school level education and forklift experience, with emphasis on safety, attendance, and ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• This is a safety sensitive position.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function.
• Basic knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations preferred.
• Ability to understand general industry practices.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Load and unload solid and liquid waste & recyclables safely in accordance with Company, Federal, State and local regulations/rules.
• Utilize hand trucks, pallet jacks, fork trucks with attachments and other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the facility.
• Safety operate equipment to process materials including balers, shredders, grinders, extractors, pumps, tanks and pressure washers.
• Properly sort materials based on pre-established guidelines for additional processing.
• Perform cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed.
• Utilize knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
