Job summary

Profound in San Francisco is seeking a Forward Deployed Marketing Engineer who embeds with customer teams, often onsite, to understand marketing work and build workflows that become part of everyday delivery.

You’ll design and troubleshoot agents, draft content, run reporting, and help teams adopt Profound across campaigns. This role blends marketing judgment with product knowledge to deliver measurable results and grow with our agency and consulting partners.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years working in marketing or closely with marketing teams – in-house at a startup or large company, at an agency or consultancy, or in a martech solutions or consulting role.
• Experience applying AI or marketing automation, or deeper industry expertise in areas like pharma, CPG or banking is a strong plus.
• Willingness to embed with customer teams onsite and collaborate with partners.

Responsibilities

• Be forward deployed. Work alongside customer marketing teams, onsite regularly and participate in planning meetings.
• Recommend where Profound can help by understanding priorities and identifying opportunities.
• Apply marketing judgment to outputs, refining inputs until they meet standards.
• Build and refine workflows and agents in Profound that run real marketing work.
• Drive adoption by helping practitioners use Profound on live projects.
• Work with account managers and engineering on deployments and integrations.
• Build partner capability with agency and consulting partners.
• Share successful applications as templates and playbooks.
• Be accountable for adoption driven through useful use cases.
