Job summary

Algas-SDI, a long-established energy solutions company in Kent, WA, seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support daily factory operations, improve production processes, and drive operational excellence. You will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to resolve challenges, enhance documentation, and implement sustainable improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 2-4 years of manufacturing/industrial engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, tolerances, and BOMs.
• Experience with ECR/ECN workflows.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues with root-cause analysis methods.
• Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary technical resource for manufacturing and engineering issues.
• Troubleshoot production challenges, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Interpret drawings, tolerances, BOMs, and product requirements for production decisions.
• Support ECR/ECN processes to ensure changes are reviewed and implemented.
• Create, maintain, and improve work instructions, routings, and BOM clarifications.
• Collaborate with Design/Engineering to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
• Partner with Quality on non-conformances and corrective/preventive actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost quality, throughput, safety, and cost.
• Analyze production data to reduce scrap, rework, downtime.
• Support tooling, fixtures, equipment, and long-term capability upgrades.
• Participate in daily floor walks to identify barriers and implement solutions.
• Train and implement new or updated manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across teams.
• Perform other operational/technical duties as assigned.
