Job summary

Algas-SDI in Kent, WA is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support engineers with prototype development, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. You will work directly in our lab and shop alongside Engineering and Manufacturing teams.

Qualifications include a technical degree or equivalent, 3+ years of related experience, and hands-on experience with test equipment, data acquisition, and reading drawings.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on engineering, lab, or manufacturing work.
• Experience with test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics and P&IDs.
• Experience with thermal, electrical, fluids, or pressurized systems.
• Hands-on assembly, fabrication, and instrumentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and executing test plans, procedures, and validation activities.
• Assemble, modify, instrument, and test prototype equipment and components.
• Set up and troubleshoot test systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment.
• Fabricate test fixtures, piping assemblies, brackets, panels, and prototype components.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data and communicate results to engineering teams.
• Assist with root cause investigations, failure analysis, and product troubleshooting.
• Support Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service with product improvements and testing.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and facilities, including calibration and preventative maintenance.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized laboratory and shop environment.
