Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a Facilities Manager for its Flint-area manufacturing campus. The role oversees day-to-day maintenance, building systems, and space planning to ensure safety and uptime, while coordinating with contractors and internal teams.

You will lead a small team of facilities engineers, manage renovations, monitor budgets, and enforce safety standards. Domestic travel and onsite work are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or equivalent professional level experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing facilities or related operations.
• Knowledge of general maintenance methods, safety precautions, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of the manufacturing facility, including building systems and infrastructure.
• Manage facility projects (renovations, expansions, reconfigurations) within safety and budget.
• Coordinate external contractors and services for maintenance and repairs and monitor costs.
• Plan routine maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety equipment.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions; lead a small team of facilities engineers.
