Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Sector, ARS Division in Lincoln, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an onsite role to support Residential & Wiring Devices and to drive operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement on the production floor.

You will lead design for manufacturability changes, assist product development, apply 8D and PFMEA tools, and help implement lean processes and capital equipment projects to improve efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• One year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge or experience with fabrication and/or assembly processes.
• Lean Six Sigma certifications and/or experience implementing lean processes in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Recommends product design changes for improving manufacturability and workflow, including design for manufacturing/automation.
• Leads manufacturing portion of product development and assists with cost reduction projects.
• Implements engineering changes in production and trains personnel.
• Designs training aids and procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Analyzes discrepant parts and uses 8D, PFMEA, and root-cause tools to prevent recurrence.
• Establishes standard work, cycle time, takt time, and ergonomics; participates in floor space layouts.
• Supports capital equipment decisions to improve manufacturing capabilities.
