Job summary

Avalir in Van Nuys/Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes, create work instructions, and ensure repeatable, high-quality output in a compliant environment.

Requires 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, a BS in mechanical/industrial engineering, and proficiency with Gerber view and Aegis; knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001; US citizen or permanent resident status is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with an EMS provider.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Gerber view software, statistical tools, and manufacturing process software (Aegis).
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and space addendums is required.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain manufacturing and quality processes for critical applications in demanding environments.
• Implement and monitor equipment performance; validate IQ reports for new equipment.
• Lead data initiatives to drive continuous improvement using lean, Six Sigma, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with product development to transition new products to manufacturing.
• Build and maintain simple, visual standard work instructions and procedures.
• Train staff to ensure proficiency and maintain training records.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
