Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I for our Athens, GA facility to optimize mini hydraulic excavator production. You will apply engineering theory to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost, analyzing processes and implementing improvements with cross‑functional teams.

The role involves time studies, CAD and SAP usage, developing routings and work instructions, and leading lean projects on the shop floor while maintaining strong attention to detail and driving continuous

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or 5 years manufacturing planning experience.
Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) and ERP systems like SAP.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics; interpret engineering drawings.
Experience with time studies and process improvement.
Strong verbal and written communication; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Study time and methods to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
Interpret drawings and schematics; determine quality and reliability standards.
Review logs and specs to verify QA adherence.
Plan work assignments based on performance, capacity, schedules, and delays.
Lead tooling design, fabrication, and repair for production.
Troubleshoot issues and implement data-driven improvements.
Develop routings and work instructions in SAP; support planning.
Lead lean projects; reduce cycle times and rebalancing.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain.
