Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Newberg, OR to improve machining and manufacturing processes, provide hands-on production support, and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives. The role partners with production, quality, and engineering to optimize operations and drive cost, quality, and safety metrics.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Engineering with 5+ years of manufacturing experience, strong CNC/GD&T knowledge, and hands-on NPI experience.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering and 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience supporting machining operations and shop-floor production.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, drawings, tooling and fixtures.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis.
• Hands-on NPI, process validation and production launch.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP, PLM, QMS, CAPA, SPC, and process controls.
• CAD proficiency and tooling/work cell design experience.
• Strong project management, organizational and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for production issues including quality concerns and tooling challenges.
• Analyze data to optimize ERP routings, cycle times, setups, and fabrication processes.
• Create and maintain manufacturing docs, work instructions, and process standards.
• Lead continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methods.
• Collaborate across production, quality, and engineering to improve KPIs.
• Drive CAPA and support quality improvements for process and product.
• Support NPI activities including design reviews and tooling design.
• Recommend capital equipment and tooling, and train operators.
• Improve CNC operations via program/tooling/setup/job-family strategies.
• Use CAD/CAM to design fixtures and layouts and related docs.
