Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Sherwood, OR to improve machining and manufacturing processes, provide hands-on production support, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across production, quality, and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes NPI involvement, CAD/CAM tooling design, and optimization of CNC operations, with a strong manufacturing engineering background and 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a BS in Engineering and has 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience supporting machining operations and shop-floor production.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, drawings, tooling, fixtures, and problem solving.
• Proven ability in process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis.
• Hands-on NPI, process validation, and production launch experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for production issues including quality concerns and downtime.
• Analyze data to optimize ERP routings, cycle times, and setups.
• Create and maintain manufacturing docs, work instructions, and change control.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma improvement initiatives and kaizen events.
• Collaborate across production, quality, and engineering to improve KPIs.
• Drive CAPA and support quality improvements in process and product.
• Support NPI activities from design reviews to inspection methods.
• Recommend capital equipment and tooling improvements with deployment.
• Improve CNC operations via program/tooling/setup optimization.
• Use CAD/CAM tools to design fixtures and layouts.
