Essex is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances. The role involves preparing vacant units, responding to resident requests, and conducting regular property inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.

On-site five-day weeks and on-call duties may be required. You will work to maintain compliance with safety regulations and report hazards to management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 2+ years of property management industry or related experience.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair with hands-on experience.
• Knowledge of environmental/industrial hazards (asbestos, lead, mold, radon) as they apply to residential housing.
• Ability to utilize a personal smart device for apps related to property operations and communication.
• General understanding of the Microsoft Suite, property management software.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; proven organizational and time management skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances).
• Repair and maintain interior and exterior features of the property.
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents in a timely manner.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents (painting, cleaning, repairs).
• Ensure units meet cleanliness and functionality standards before move-in.
• Conduct regular property inspections of common areas and equipment.
• Implement and follow a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues and be on-call as required.
• Maintain tools, materials, and organized maintenance shop.
• Complete work orders and maintain records in SightPlan or tracker.
