Red Rover Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance and Commissioning Technician for our Chicago client. This on-site, full-time role focuses on keeping manufacturing equipment running, diagnosing persistent issues, and supporting upgrades and startups in a consumer-packaged goods environment.

Ideal candidates have practical experience with industrial equipment, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• Practical experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing or installing industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical ability and willingness to perform hands-on work.
• Methodical approach to finding the cause of a problem and verifying repairs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and processing equipment.
• Diagnose problems on established machinery through observation and investigation.
• Investigate recurring breakdowns and implement lasting repairs and reliability improvements.
• Support preventive maintenance and identify equipment conditions needing attention.
• Help modify, install, set up, test and commission equipment.
• Consider material flow and maintenance access when recommending changes.
• Plan and carry out smaller equipment improvements and identify parts and external support.
• Coordinate with suppliers, service technicians, and contractors to resolve problems.
