Job summary

Outset is seeking an experienced IT Automation Engineer to lead our macOS environment as a hands-on contributor. You will support employees directly while building secure systems, automations, and a long-term fleet strategy.

The role blends Apple expertise, systems administration, automation, and high ownership in a fast-growing company. This onsite position requires five days per week in the office, with a focus on secure, scalable, AI-assisted workflows and cross-team collaboration to protect

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in client platform or endpoint engineering.
• Deep macOS administration, including logs, diagnostics, and Apple hardware.
• Mastery of Jamf Pro, Jamf Protect, Apple Business Manager, and modern Apple enrollment.
• Experience building AI-assisted automation workflows for enterprise systems.
• Python and shell scripting with API/webhook integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Rippling, Google Workspace, and Slack integrations.
• Ability to diagnose office network and Wi-Fi in a live environment.
• Strong ownership and communication to drive solutions end-to-end.
• Judgment when handling privileged access and security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Managing the macOS fleet lifecycle from architecture to retirement.
• Administering Jamf Pro, Jamf Protect, and Apple Business Manager services.
• Providing hands-on macOS hardware and software support during business hours.
• Building secure IT automations using AI tooling, Python, and APIs.
• Helping teams build secure automations for emails, Slack apps, and integrations.
• Administering Slack and integrations with Rippling, Google Workspace, and more.
• Improving onboarding, access management, and device compliance workflows.
• Creating clear runbooks, standards, and technical plans.
• Collaborating with Security, Legal, People, and business teams on controls and incident response.
